CECT A88 Vs CECT I9

The i9 and the A88 are two of the most popular iPhone clones on the market right now. Some people confuse the two. This article will compare these two shake and tilt models and will point out some of the similarities and differences to help you decide which of the them may be better for or work more for you.

Both Are Loaded: Before I go into the specifics of the phones, you should know that both are loaded with the "everything in one phone" features synonymous with the clones like web browsing, texting and emailing, MP3 / MP4, digital camera and web cam, and Bluetooth.

Shake And Tilt (AKA "Shake Control" or "Shake To The Music"): If you've found this article, you probably already know about shake and tilt, which means that you can change or advance music and media by flicking your wrist or shaking the phone. Likewise, if you want to take the screen or photos to wide screen or from portrait to landscape, you just tilt the phone.

You probably know that both the i9 and A88 have this feature. Although some people don't see the need for it, I suspect if you're researching these phones, you know that you don't want to have to scroll around.

Dual Sim Standby / Active: The CECT A88 has dual sim slots, which means that you can use two cards and have two phone numbers or carriers. However, you  have to switch back and forth between them and only one can be online at one time. The CECT i9 has active dual sim, which means that both sims can be online at once.

Tri Band Versus Quad Band: The 88 is a tri band phone which means that is supports support GSM  900, 1800, and 1900 MHz, which covers most U.S. and worldwide carriers. The 9 is a quad band which covers GSM 850 /900 /1800 /1900. (The 850 MHZ is used by some rural AT&T carriers and some Cingular customers.) A quick glance on your carrier's web site or a call will usually tell you which band you're on pretty quickly.

Supporting Java: Of these two phones, only the i9 supports Java and therefore allows third party software and downloads (MSN, PowerPoint, and Excel). This obviously gives a whole new dimension to the productivity and gaming experience of the phone.

Size: The i model is lighter than the A model, weighing in at only 95 grams with the dimensions of 110 x 60 x 11.5 mm. The  88 has the same dimensions but weighs less, at 127 grams.

Memory: Both of these phones allow for expandable memory, but while the A88 holds up to 2GB, the i9 can hold much more. Most of the time, the CECT i9's have 4GB, but I have seen models holding as much as 8GB.

Price: Generally speaking, the i9 cost a bit more as it is a newer release, whereas the A88 is almost always under $150.

So, Which Is Better? Which of these phones are better for you is going to depend greatly on what you are looking for in a phone. Obviously, if you want or need a quad band iPhone clone that contains Java, you'll probably want to opt for the i9. However, if you're only looking for dependable and highly popular shake and tilt, the A88 may fit the bill just fine
